
The Asagaya College of Art and Design is an accredited special training school of higher art and design education, and have many graduates such as designers, artists, manga artists and animators. The school is located in Suginami, within 20 minutes from the city center of Tokyo. We are a small school with the maximum number of students limited to 140 for each year. First year is the foundation year. In the first semester, all students learn basic things including video and photography. From the second semester, each student chooses a course and learns separately, and available to choose from a wide range of elective classes regardless of the course the student is enrolled in. (It is possible to enter the second year or start from Post-Graduate Program for the people who has educational backgrounds or experiences.)
Our studios (computer, video, photography, printing, woodwork) are open throughout the year to all students wishing to create artwork. The school has student exchange programs with the University of Decorative Arts in Paris, France, and the Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic.

Students learn how to be artists who pursuit free expressions regardless genre and are capable to present for society.

Students learn not only drawing techniques, but also how to setting the character up, creating a unique view of the story, creating ideas, making up the story and planning ability.
Fine Arts(20)
Oil Painting / Watercolor Painting / Classical Painting Techniques / Printmaking
Students learn paintings and drawings as expression methods, not only skills required for production, but also cultivating free and variety of ideas and sensibilities.
Media Design(20)
Web Design / Filmmaking / Video Art
Students learn from basic to application about computers and video makings as well as planning skills to develop contents.
Post-Graduate Program(15)
For graduates of ASABI or equivalent in educational backgrounds or experiences.
Each student individually decides on a theme for study and carry out it and its production with an instructor on a man-to-man basis for one year.

Students learn design for comfortable space and products considering of usability from the viewpoint of a person who uses the space or the products.
